Support for men

All of the services at a SARC are for men, women and children. Regardless of age, sexuality or gender, you will be believed and treated with dignity and respect.

Male rape is not something that’s often reported. According to the most recent government statistics, 75,000 men are estimated to be victims of sexual assault or attempted assault each year, with 9,000 men estimated to be victims of rape or attempted rape. However, the same statistics show that fewer than 3,000 offences of male rape or sexual assault were reported to the police in the year the data was collected.

If you are a man and you have been raped or sexually assaulted, we can help. We can provide immediate medical care, a forensic examination, blood tests and advice about sexual health and HIV medication. We can also put you in touch with counselling services. All of this is regardless of whether the police are involved or not. All of our services are completely confidential.

To get help you can contact us on 0300 3034626 or fill in the short self referral form and we will contact you.
